This ring came from Hawaii.
Curly Koa wood — one of the most prized and rare hardwoods in the world. Deep. Dark. That wavy iridescent figure running through the grain that catches the light differently every time you turn it. The kind of wood that asks you to pay attention.
Set with a strip of blue abalone inlay. Iridescent. Shimmering. Blues and greens and golds all living inside one thin line of shell against that dark curly grain.
The contrast is dramatic. The abalone glows against the darkness of the Koa like light breaking through deep water.
This ring was hand finished — sanded from 100 grit through to 600, polished through four stages of Micro Magic polish, and finished with a scratch resistant wood turner's wax that gives it a silky smooth feel against your skin.
It is a size 5. Delicate. Lighter than it looks. The kind of ring you forget you're wearing and then catch the light hitting it across the room and remember all over again.
