Growing up in Richmond, VA, Lisa’s love for books began at an early age. As a child, Lisa thought she would become a novelist, but then realized she was much better suited for sales. Cited as her most rewarding decision, She has worked as a literary agent for the past 27 years, owing much of her knowledge to her mother. Lisa lived in NYC for the first half of her career as a literary agent, before returning to Bracey, VA after 9/11. Lisa focuses on self-help, spirituality, and new age literature. Her books foster learning and growth as a person and are perfect for book clubs and discussion groups. She chooses authors that give the reader actionable advice and a lot to think about. Lisa is passionate about helping authors find their voice, and publish books that are too small for traditional publishing. Lisa opened Lisa Hagan Books in 2015 after an editor asked if she was interested in starting a small publishing company. The company publishes books that have an important message or offer an enjoyable learning experience for the reader. She and the company are devoted to their authors to make the best books possible while still having lots of fun!
