Mixed Media acrylic and oil paint, birds and cat formed from epoxy clay

My intention with this piece was to transform an antique panel into a 3-dimensional work of art. The bars reminded me of a cage of sorts, but I noticed one bar was cracked. I imagined a birdcage sitting in a garden setting. The birds inside longed to be free like those around them. Little did they know there may be a price for their freedom, as a neighboring cat surveyed their endeavor.
